Terms of Service
These are the terms for using MapMelee, a free browser game run by MapMelee, LLC (“MapMelee”, “we”). By creating an account or playing, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data and is part of these terms.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to have an account.
- You sign in with an email magic link or with a Google, Discord, Apple or Facebook account. Keep those accounts secure; what happens through your MapMelee account is yours.
- One account per person. Do not impersonate anyone or pick a name that misleads other players.
- You can leave at any time by asking us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy).
Your games and content
Games, boards, pieces, rules and images you create on MapMelee remain yours. You give us the permission we need to store them, show them to the players you share them with, and run them on our servers. If you publish a game for others to play, you give those players permission to play it and copy it into their own collection. Only upload what you have the right to use.
Fair play
Do not:
- cheat, exploit bugs, or interfere with other people’s games;
- harass, threaten or abuse other players, in names, chat, or game content;
- upload content that is illegal, infringes someone’s rights, or is sexual content involving minors;
- scrape, overload, probe or attack the service, or use it to send spam or unwanted invitations.
We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
Historical content
MapMelee depicts historical battles. The names, maps and unit markings are there for the history; nothing on the site endorses the causes or crimes of any side.
The service
MapMelee is free and provided as it is. We work to keep it up and to keep your games safe, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut down, we will give notice and time to export what is yours. To the extent the law allows, MapMelee, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using MapMelee, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us, which for a free service is nothing.
Changes
When these terms change, the effective date at the top changes and, for anything that matters, we tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to play after that means you accept the new terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the State of Delaware, where MapMelee, LLC is organized. If something goes wrong, email us first; most things are fixable in a reply.
